When I was six years old, my Dad bought a home in the village/township of  Rome. Ohio. It was quiet and rural, and I still remember my first best friend - Ann Arnold, who's home sat right on the bank of the Ohio River. Notoriously haunted Linda Vista Community Hospital, originally the Santa Fe Railroad Hospital, was built in 1904 in the Los Angeles neighborhood now known as Boyle Heights. The hospital was one of four hospitals run for railroad employees, and was designed as a resort type facility with Jersey cows, chickens, and a garden to provide patients with the freshest milk, butter, eggs, poultry and vegetables. The railroad sold the building to a health care company in the 1980s, and as the surrounding neighborhood declined, so did funding.
